Details
This list sets out the UN codes for trade and transport locations (UN/LOCODEs) for offshore installations. The information was originally issued by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) on 15 January 2026. Upon review, rail and airport terminals were removed where coordinate checks confirmed these locations did not correspond to offshore installations.
The list is published alongside the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (Amendment) (Extension to Maritime Activities) Order 2026. This 2026 Order amends the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme Order 2020 by inserting Schedule 2A. Paragraph 6(3) of Schedule 2A provides that a port includes an offshore installation that has an assigned UN/LOCODE at 1 April 2026 (the date the Order was made).

'UK ETS: Offshore installations - UN codes for trade and transport locations (UN/LOCODEs)' has been updated to include offshore installations in all jurisdictions which are known to have a UN/LOCODE, and known airports and train stations from the UNECE data have been removed, as these will not be relevant.
