Details

This form lets you register a powered boat for a short period (3 months or less) on the River Thames, Anglian or Medway waterways.

You should use this form to apply at least 10 working days before the start of your visit.

Buy in person on the River Thames

You can also buy a short period registration for either a powered or an unpowered boat at most River Thames locks when there is a lock keeper on duty. Check River Thames locks and facilities for boaters for which locks accept card and contactless payments. To buy your short period registration at the lock you do not need to complete this form, you must complete the registration form they provide you with at the lock.
