Biography

Rebecca has been the Director of the UK Space Agency since April 2026.

Rebecca was previously the Director for Space in DSIT.

Rebecca’s previous roles include:

  • Co-Director for Citizens and Networks, Department for Exiting the European Union
  • Director, International (jobshare), UK Space Agency
  • Deputy Director for Rail Strategy at the Department for Transport
  • Head of the EU Balance of Competences Review, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
  • Head of National Adaptation Programme, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
  • Head of European Environment Team, Cabinet Office
  • Senior Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Environment
  • Seconded National Expert, DG Environment

Director, UK Space Agency

The Director leads the UK Space Agency, which sets the national direction on space.  

The UK Space Agency coheres policy, strategy and delivery across the whole of government, driving innovation and delivering world-class space science programmes in partnership with the UK space sector and international partners. 

The UK Space Agency is part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.
