About us
The UK Space Agency sets the national direction on space.
The UK Space Agency coheres policy, strategy and delivery across the whole of government, driving innovation and delivering world-class space science programmes in partnership with the UK space sector and international partners.
The UK space sector generates an annual income of £18.6 billion and employs 55,000 people across the country. More generally, space and satellite services are estimated to support wider industrial activities worth £454 billion to the economy, or 18% of GDP.
The UK Space Agency is part of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. We work closely with other departments and research organisations which have equities in space.
