Newto Training Limited

We, the undersigned, commit to honour the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and our country.

The Armed Forces Covenant

An enduring covenant between the people of the United Kingdom, Her Majesty’s Government and all those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces of the Crown and their families

The first duty of Government is the defence of the realm. Our Armed Forces fulfil that responsibility on behalf of the Government, sacrificing some civilian freedoms, facing danger and, sometimes, suffering serious injury or death as a result of their duty. Families also play a vital role in supporting the operational effectiveness of our Armed Forces. In return, the whole nation has a moral obligation to the members of the Naval Service, the Army and the Royal Air Force, together with their families. They deserve our respect and support, and fair treatment.

Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services. Special consideration is appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most such as the injured and the bereaved.

This obligation involves the whole of society: it includes voluntary and charitable bodies, private organisations, and the actions of individuals in supporting the Armed Forces. Recognising those who have performed military duty unites the country and demonstrates the value of their contribution. This has no greater expression than in upholding this Covenant.

Section 1: Principles of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant

1.1 We Newto Training Limited will endeavour in our business dealings to uphold the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, which are:

  • no member of the Armed Forces Community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen;
  • and in some circumstances that special treatment may be appropriate especially for the injured or bereaved.

Section 2: Demonstrating our commitment

2.1 Newto Training Limited recognises the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, by pledging to the following:

  • Armed Forces Friendly
  • UK Service Veterans And Leavers
  • UK Service Spouses And Partners
  • UK Cadets
  • Armed Forces Day
  • Reserve Forces Day

We also pledge the following:

  • Newto Training is committed to supporting members of the British Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans and those preparing to transition into civilian careers. As an approved provider with the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS), we are able to help Armed Forces personnel access funded training to gain industry-recognised certifications and develop new skills. Beyond this, our aim is to actively support service leavers by helping them translate their existing military experience into opportunities within high-demand sectors such as cyber security, data and AI.

  • We plan to support the Armed Forces community by providing dedicated information sessions, career guidance and accessible training routes into the technology sector. This includes hosting webinars for personnel approaching resettlement, creating tailored learning pathways designed for military learners, and sharing guidance on how military skills such as leadership, problem-solving and operational discipline align with roles in the digital and technology industries. Our instructor-led training programmes also provide practical labs, certification preparation and flexible learning formats that suit individuals transitioning from military to civilian life. In addition, Newto Training will work to raise awareness of the value that Armed Forces personnel bring to the workforce by promoting success stories, engaging with employers and supporting initiatives that encourage the hiring of veterans. By combining professional training with career-focused support, we aim to help members of the Armed Forces community build sustainable civilian careers while contributing valuable skills to the UK’s growing technology sector.

  • To ensure this support is meaningful and personal, we have appointed an Armed Forces Champion within Newto Training - who is a military spouse. This champion helps showcase the success stories of individuals who have transitioned from military to civilian careers, turning them into ambassadors who can share their experiences and inspire others. They also connect directly with personnel living on bases, providing tailored guidance and support not just to the service member, but to their families as well, helping them navigate career transitions and access learning opportunities that build long-term civilian careers.

  • At Newto Training, we are committed to providing the Armed Forces community with fair and flexible access to our services while offering commercial support where possible. This includes offering and promoting exclusive discounts for service personnel, veterans, and their families. Recognising the unique challenges faced by the Armed Forces, including high mobility, we ensure they are not disadvantaged by their service; for example, individuals who are unable to complete a course within the standard timeframe will be offered additional time to finish, allowing them to fully benefit from our training programmes without penalty.

  • At Newto Training, we are dedicated to supporting Service leavers, ex-Service personnel, and their families through a combination of professional training and career education. Alongside our industry-recognised courses in areas such as cyber security, IT, and digital skills, we provide practical recruitment support to help individuals successfully transition into civilian careers. This includes guidance on writing effective CVs, applying for roles, interview preparation and mock interviews, understanding best practices for job applications, and advice on negotiating salaries. By combining technical training with career coaching, we aim to equip members of the Armed Forces community with the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to thrive in the civilian workforce.

2.2 We will publicise these commitments through our literature and/or on our website, setting out how we will seek to honour them and inviting feedback from the Service community and our customers on how we are doing.
